Stirring Dragon Games creates software, games and merchandise for your enjoyment. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the new European Union legislation called the GDPR, which sets out requirements for all companies handling the personal data of EU citizens.

We treat our customers data the same way regardless of geographical location.  The GDPR requires that we provide you with information regarding how we collect and use your data.

Donations

All donations via our website go to support Stirring Dragon Games. Donations are final and non-refundable, and do not guarantee receipt of any product, service, or other reward.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We do not sell your information to any third party for any reason. We will not transfer your information to any third party for any reason not directly related to your relationship with us as a supporter and/or customer of Stirring Dragon Games and our products.

Below is a list of the data we collect and why we collect it:

Email List:

We hold the following details for people who have signed up on our email list in order to contact them regarding news and updates concerning Stirring Dragon Games and its products:

  • Email address
  • Your first and/or last name, if you provided those at time of signup

Backer Database (Kickstarter/Megafounder):

We hold the following details for people who backed one of our products on Kickstarter or Megafounder:

  • Email address
  • Name
  • Physical address (if you provided for the purpose of us shipping you rewards)
  • Note that we do not have, nor ever had your payment information. That was only held by Kickstarter or Paypal (via Megafounder).
  • For some backers, we may collect additional data such as photos, only if you choose to submit them as part of your reward tier.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

How we store your data and who we share it with

In addition to your data being stored on Stirring Dragon Games own internal systems in California, we use some cloud based services to store and process data about customers. Some of these cloud providers store data in the United States. More information about the security measures used by these providers is linked to below.

We may choose other service providers in future, and if so we will update this privacy policy accordingly.

How long we retain your data

Email list data:

We only keep your data as long as you remain subscribed to the mailing list. You can do this at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email we send you.

Backer Database:

Kickstarter has their own policy for maintaining your data, so we encourage you to check with them for any related concerns. We will keep your data long enough to be able to fulfill your Kickstarter-related rewards and provide you with updates.

Website data:

We keep your website cookies only as long as you allow the cookies to exist on your web browser. You may delete them at any time using your browser settings.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Only Stirring Dragon Games and service providers (listed above) will have access to your data, and only for the purposes listed in this policy.
